SUBMISSIONS

What We Publish

Kennedy Creek Press publishes fiction and nonfiction that explore mental health with depth, nuance, and humanity. We are especially interested in work that is emotionally resonant, grounded in evidence, and accessible to general readers without sacrificing complexity.

We are currently seeking:

  • Contemporary fiction that engages thoughtfully with mental health, recovery, or care

  • Evidence-based nonfiction intended to educate clinicians, providers, and helping professionals

  • Evidence-based nonfiction that demystifies behavioral health for a general audience

 

We are not seeking:

  • Textbooks or clinical manuals

  • Inspirational or prescriptive self-help

  • Memoirs

  • Poetry

 

How to Submit:

We welcome submissions from both unagented and agented authors. Kennedy Creek Press produces print, ebook, and audiobook editions in-house. Submissions should be open to audio rights. 

Please combine all materials into a single PDFand submit to: admin@kennedycreekpress.com; Subject line: SUBMISSION – Title – Genre. Please include:

  • Query letter

  • Synopsis 

  • Sample pages

    • Fiction: first 50 pages

    • Nonfiction: introduction and 1 chapter

  • Author bio

 

We aim to respond within 8–12 weeks. If you have not heard from us after 12 weeks, you may assume we are not moving forward. Simultaneous submissions are welcome. Please notify us promptly if your work is accepted elsewhere. Please note that we are unable to provide individualized feedback or editorial consultation on submissions.
